The Lycée International Balzac is a partner school of the Mission Laïque Française, located in New Cairo to the east of Cairo and welcoming 1,730 students at the start of the 2024 school year.
Built in 1999 and affiliated with the MLF in 2006, the Lycée boasts recognized experience and a high-quality educational offering.
It proposes the cohabitation of two school systems: the French system approved by the French government and the Egyptian program.
A private school under local Egyptian law, it prepares children of all nationalities for an excellent education in French and Arabic. English and Spanish complete the linguistic offer.
All levels are accredited, from kindergarten to high school.
Despite strong competition (22 international establishments within a 10 km radius), the growth in student numbers is proof of the Lycée Balzac's dynamic growth: 1,000 students in 2016, 1,500 in 2019, 1,730 in 2024.
As head of the Lycée International Balzac, it's an honor for me to be in charge of one of the largest schools in Egypt and part of the Mission Laïque Française.
With a staff of 391, including 200 educational and teaching staff and 141 teachers, I'm delighted to be coordinating all these human resources to ensure the success of every student, in conjunction with parents and the actions of the network and the diplomatic post.
My aim is to enable every member of staff to give their best in order to maintain the academic performance of our beautiful school and ensure the success of all our students.
At the Lycée Balzac, students are welcomed by staff who are committed to their missions, trained and professional.
Taking account of students' needs is one of my priorities, and creating an inclusive, proactive school is the way to achieve it.
Educational and pedagogical performances, whether quantitative (100% baccalaureate success rate 7 years running) or qualitative (well-being, pedagogical innovations, inclusion, etc.), show that we're on the right track, thanks to our collective, concerted and coordinated efforts.
The development of all staff is also very important to me, as this ultimately benefits the well-being of the students.
For the past 3 years, we have been working towards this goal with the implementation of an ambitious professional development policy and the creation of a committee that regularly reflects on this issue. Thanks to this committee, our organization aims to be the most learning organization in the world.
Parents also play an important role in our educational community. As a key partner, we try to integrate them as much as possible into our processes through constructive co-education, regular communication and consideration of their needs and requests.
Aware of the responsibility I've been given, it's also with enthusiasm, benevolence, availability and self-sacrifice that I support the entire educational community of the Lycée International Balzac on a daily basis, so that each and every one of us can find fulfillment.
A very good school year and best wishes for success!
